Why so long to release this?

shareI think financing was the issue which is weird since this is Hollywood not a low-budget independent student film.

shareI wondered the same thing and after seeing this, it should have gotten a theatrical release, even if it was at some art theaters, Halle did a phenomenal job of depicting a woman with multiple personalities.

That would likely mean more money for them, and a much bigger viewership.
On the other hand, it is about mental illness, and that has always been uncomfortable subject matter.
I do not know if it was given a "reasonable" number of copies pressed, but I found the first available (locally anyway) copy just a few months ago.
