It's true! "It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To" is a CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE DVD. The viewer is actually able to decide which direction the characters go DURING the movie, leading them to their deaths and other such endings.

That's a cool feature but it's definitely NOT the first. Return to House on Haunted Hill came out in Sept 2007 with that feature, and there have been a childrens movie series doing that for years!

Thanks for checking the movie out and the comment. This comment is based on the fact that "It's My Party..." was shot before "Return to House" was created. "Final Destination 3" also had a "Choose Your Own Destiny" type of thing that basically sucked, but that as well was shot after "Party" was. If "It's My Party" had a 100th of the budget of either of these 2 movies, it could have been edited and distributed prior to their releases, but unfortunately the indie film world can be a real pain in the a##...
As for the children's movies that do that, I'm curious as to know what those are? What are the titles? Are they on DVD or VHS? I had gotten the idea off of the books in the 80's (not the "Goosebumps" ones) and thought it'd make for a fun movie-watching experience.

I love some of those 80s CYOA books. I actually became interested with your film from the title - very nostalgic of an 80s movie, in my opinion. Just fun!
I haven't seen it yet but I'll definitely try to check it out! BTW - for making your indie movie!! I definitely know it can be a pain in the ass (I've been in a few) so congratulations on pushing you're way through it!

Very cool... It looks just like the books (only a cartoon.)
Still, I don't understand how no one else has done this idea yet; it's what has made "Party" stand out from all of the other indie movies at the conventions we've gone to. We start to pitch the movie and the people keep walking until you say it 's a choose your own adventure... They stop dead in their tracks and listen (and most of the times buy, thankfully!) And it's funny because as mad as I was to hear that Return to House on Haunted Hill had done it, I was really anxious to check it out because they had 96 endings to my 9! But it's only available on the Blu-Ray disc (big mistake on their part in my opinion.) So regardless, it hasn't quite caused our "success" to falter, thank god!
And I appreciate the compliments; it was a pain in the ass at times to shoot as we did, but it got done and I am very happy with how well its been received by horror fans. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are a fan of 80's horror. From one fan to another, they don't make them like they used to.
