Cantonese or Mandarin??

My dvd has a choice of Cantonese and Mandarin language options; however both tracks don't seem to be in sync with the lip movements of the actors. Can anyone tell what is the correct audio for this film?

I had the same issue. Mandarin seemed to be more in sync, but I wouldn't be surprised if both Cantonese and Mandarin were being spoken in the movie, which made certain scenes seem "off"

Good question.
I was wondering the same thing.

Actually, the correct audio track is Cantonese. It seems like some actors in the early scenes are dubbed, but as the film progresses, the Cantonese becomes in sync for the most part. Donnie Yen is speaking Cantonese, and that is the important thing. Try it with that language.

In the original version of the movie, all the Chinese people speak Cantonese, except for the out-of-towner punks, who speak Mandarin. Watch it on Hulu.com to see for yourself.

I had the exact issue with the OP.

I just settled on Cantonese and after the first scene, it seemed more natural with the lip movements...
