'only those without collars can break the rules'
That's what the voice on the tape says to Fourteen at the beginning of the movie. Was there any one without a collar?

shareYes, Player 0.
"So it goes" -Slaughterhouse Fiveshare
Actually, none of them really had a collar, they were fakes, designed to scare the 'contestants' into playing the game.
"As always I will carry you kicking and screaming, and in the end, you will thank me."
Exactly, what Ziggy said. I think it was a behavioral experiment type thing, but I dunno. Kind of weak to give us 90% of an ending then leave us hanging. Either give us the full info or leave MORE of it a mystery, walking the line between is weak and lazy...
"Andrew, we can't possibly be dead. We have cable." - Nothing
player 0 actually had a collar

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for enough good men to do nothing.
Player 0 had a collar at first. Once he used Tonya's key he was able to take it off.

He took it off and he still died.. That made no sense. She killed him even though he was free to break the rules. Once he removed the collar. He should have been untouchable. In fact. many of them did not break any rules and still died. The movie made no sense at all.
You assume they meant to let any of them live at all. They obviously couldn't allow any of them just walk away.
The rules were there to do what rules do: control behavior. Whether some of the collars worked or none of them did is beyond the point. Whether one of them was a pedophile or none of them were pedophiles was beyond the point.
The point of killing random people was the same as giving select people random tools and arbitrary rules. Simply to instill paranoia, and obtain the required results.

Still a bad movie with great concept (regardless of it being done before) but that was so desperate to do a sequel that it couldnĀ“t focus on writing a good script.
