Play Failed

Looks like Tucker is no more successful on Broadway than he was on film. Basically, the same thing happened as with his film when it failed to open wide. Talk about a one-trick pony that can no longer even do the one trick.

It can be tough to make it to Broadway banking on straight men: The producer of the stage adaptation of Tucker Max’s frat-boys-behaving-badly chronicle “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell” has pulled back on an aggressive commercial trajectory for the show, abruptly canceling an Off Broadway transfer that was to have begun July 5.

It’s impossible to confirm whether concerns over advance sales led to the decision — a rep for the show, “I Hope They Serve Beer on Broadway,” would say only that all tickets for the upcoming transfer had been refunded.

"I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell" . . . will be bigger than ANYONE (except me) is predicting."

The play was great; did you know it was based on a true story? The problem was that they didn't know how to market the play. The should have hired Tucker for a college bus tour. Compounding the felony, I didn't see advertising on the Rudius Media website, nor frequent flier miles offered by Rudius Air. The play didn't even last long enough to be recorded on DVD, undoubtedly it would have sold millions of copies.

You probably don't believe me, but I saw a play rehearsal at Fort (redacted) where we were training for Delta Force. After the play, we went on an airdrop over (redacted) to take out Al Qaeda. One of the cherries was nervous, and to pass the time he said, "Sar, do ya think we'll ever be alphas like Tucker?" I just smiled and told the kid that wasn't possible. IHTSBH has become one of part of the Western canon and that Tucker has since moved on to greener pastures, namely having sex with midgets.
