IHTSBIH: the Play

Apparently someone has made a play of Tucker Max's magnum opus, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/books/2013/05/03/book-buzz/2132111/
The most surprising news regarding this rehash ...
"This is the first creative project I’ve ever been involved in where I am…in the background. I mean, yes its based on my life and my writing of course, but at this point, I am kinda irrelevant to this play in any substantive way. I have no creative input, I’m not casting it, I won’t be going to rehearsals, and the first time I see it will with opening night, June 5th. This isn’t bad or good. It’s just very different from anything I’ve ever experienced." - Tucker Max

What in the world happened to the revolutionary industry paradigm shifter that we have all come to know and love? This is a man who single-handedly created an entire literary genre, launched 2 successful television series, hosted an amazing radio show, runs one of the most diverse and profitable entrepreneurial companies in the US, and created the most critically acclaimed cult-classic films of this or any generation that completely changed the way Hollywood markets movies. I almost forgot to mention the little known fact that he was a New York Times Best Seller. Most people don't know that because Tucker tries to keep that little tidbit on the dl.

I really don't understand how they can hope to be successful without Tucker's expertise in .... well everything. That's exactly what's wrong with Broadway today. They are so insular and have no vision. At least if the play flops, we know who NOT to blame.

PS Where have all of you been? I have been having a hard time keeping up with all of this Tucker Max news by myself. It's like this guy is an entertainment juggernaut.

reply

Clearly this will be a flop because Tucker isn't directly involved. I can't believe people would rather roll the dice than defer to Max's genius. This is what's wrong with the world.

PS Is Nils at all involved or is it all hopeless?

I brought lemons

reply

No, Nils seems perfectly content spending his wife's paychecks. Drunkasaurusrex is quickly becoming a mere footnote in the history of the glorious and thriving Rudius Empire.

Wow, wasted talent. WHAT IS THE POINT OF EVERYTHING NOW?!

Yankee, nobody care what you think. Your just another guy who couldn't satisfy your woman, so Max swooped in and stole her. Your agenda is clear, small penis man hates famous writer with a hanglow. This whining cackle of yours is boring and speaks volumes to your character, or lack there of.

Good for Tucker Max. It's good to see that an occasional fan still finds their way to his cult-classic movie page. I was getting worried that all of his supporters had grown up and moved on. Good for you, too, for not being afraid to support a flash-in-the-pan pseudo celebrity way after his moment in the sun was over. I admire your bravery and resilience.

You still have a lot to learn about being a good Tucker fan.
1) Tucker does not have a hanglow. Unfortunately, he describes this in more detail than I cared to know.
2) If you think he is famous, you have a lower bar than I for that designation.
3) You failed to mention that he was a NY Times bestselling author. If it doesn't get mentioned at every opportunity, people might forget.
4) You failed to mention how rich Tucker claims to be despite the amount of circumstantial evidence that points the other way.
5) You forgot to insult my mom, my career, and my lifestyle. They teach that in Tucker defense 101.

Keep fighting the good fight, brotha, you'll get better at it.

Could you do us all a favor and let us know when he does anything worthy of fame so that I can send him a personal letter of apology. I have said some mean and hurtful things and owe him a major apology if any of them are ever proven untrue.

Does anyone else find it humorous and ironic that this clown is bragging on the size of another grown man's genitals and on speculation that his hero is a lothario, while simultaneously questioning Yankee's character?

I refuse to believe this guy is serious, on the grounds that nobody can be that stupid.
