Anybody else in North America starting to use English expressions...

... from watching this show?
I find myself saying all the time now:

Fit
Wanker
Pedo
Trainers
Taking the piss
Bloody brilliant
Queue-(as in waiting in line)

reply

I don't take it to all that but after rinsing Peep Show, Phoneshop, Ideal, and others I find myself ending sentences with a question, you get me? Lots of innits as well.

reply

From this show I caught myself saying brilliant twice. I did know some of the slang through my boyfriend who introduced me to this show. My boyfriend is from Belgium and moved to the UK where English became his 3rd language. Anyway when we met needless to say somethings were lost in translation "knackered, bellend, taking the piss, spunk (I thought he meant a gross vagina), he thought my new "pants" were underwear and when I told him I got my shot in my "fanny" he had the complete wrong idea!

So some of the slang on the show doesn't catch me too of guard anymore :)

I wish I can go back in time and pinch those chubby little cheeks and tell you nothing will be ok.

Queue-(as in waiting in line)
Since when was that a solely English word (as in regional to England)? All English speakers utilise it.

I'm from the us & the only time I've ever used the word queue is my Netflix queue. Is that even how you spell it? Idk we just say line, waiting in line, or "waiting in this god damn line with every moron on earth"

Having a massive binge of this show on Netflix, had to ask my British "mates" what a "Chav" was....now I know and am noticing all the North American chavs we have here....loving this show!

The master will kill you for this! But not fast. Slowly!

reply

Do only English people say Brilliant?

Learn something new....

I'm just waiting for the opportunity to call someone a "bumder."

The popcorn you're eating's been pissed in. Film at eleven.
