why such an abrupt ending after series 3?

just rewatched this from series 1 on netflix, surprised that i could hardly remember any of the episodes, so it was like watching again from scratch so great fun. But the ending to the series was way to abrupt, they could have easily done another series to finish off... i guess the movie option offered more money, shame cos the series was really funny....

with the four actors not doing anything much in the way of movies etc, would be great if they did a fourth series, with them as late 20s adults... wouldnt be as good as school kids, but stil it'd be nice to watch...

I don't really feel it was abrupt. They were all leaving school, and there was talk of Simon going away.

Neil agreed he'd look after Will with Simon gone, showing he really was one of the group after all.

It was implied that Simon had finally got interest from Carly.

It felt like an ending for the show quite well. And, of course, we got the films so it wasn't quite the end of the story.
