A Cutting Room Mess

Take a camera and film random people interacting over nothing for 5 minutes - in 8 different locations. Then splice it all together in random order and you have the first 40 minutes of this film. The editing is that horrendous. At the end, you'll wander what the whole point was.

Very well put. I can't say I could've expected anything better from the director though.

You hit the nail on the head with that one.

That was a mess.

reply

You forgot to add horses that run slower than people.

I agree. I think the 4.4 rating that the movie has now is giving it too much credit. What a mess! What was the plot? What was the "conspiracy" in the title? What was the Legend? Why was so much time given to characters that seem to be completely irrelevant?

WE GOT MOVIE SIIIIIGN!

I grew up near Possum Kingdom Lake. Not viewing the movie yet, I am unclear on the "conspiracy". According to my grandfather, the legend centered around the fur trade. The area was well known for it's robust fur bearing animals. As the legend goes, a trapper had a very good day recovering game from his snars. On his way home with his many pelts, he was ambushed by the Comache Indian tribe. The trapper tried to out run them, but little did he know the Indians had chased him toward the cliffs of Possum Kingdom. The horse near exhaustion stopped at the edge of the cliff. That's when the trapper turn to his pursuers saying, " I will go to hell, before I give you my pelts". He then turned, spurring his steed to jump off the cliff to his death!

The irony, the Indians just road back down the cliff into the valley. They collected his furs without a fight.
