This scared the crap out of me and I'm a 36yo guy - I fell for it

To be honest I fell for it, laugh all you want. As someone who has experienced / witnessed 5 speedy absolutely silent orange discs at 5am when I was about 11, the vibe in this film had me somewhat hooked. A lot of people who have had the type of encounter I have had (clear UFO's beyond our technology) spoke of feeling a presence around the time they felt compelled to look up at the sky, or go outside and check what it was, sometimes a hum.

So watching this I took the bait and particularly the smiling owl crap, was like spine chilling moment where she felt that presence, I could totally relate. Add to the fact that I fell for the whole documentary style movie based on 'fact' and I was feeling disturbed to say the least.

Has anyone else had an encounter like the one I just described. I don't think anyone else could be as scared unless they have had a real life encounter.

Hats off to the film crew for this one. You'll be getting a high rating from me I thought it was fantastic.

I've had such an experience. I guess you could say that I fell for it too, though I don't think of it as falling for anything. I just think the filmmakers did their job. They took me somewhere. Back to a place I hadn't been in a long time. Like an old war vet watching a movie about Korea

Very well put

Yeah...this film "worked" for me, too.

What I found odd was I watched it one afternoon on a nice, sunny day, with my S.O. right there in the room with me, although they chose to look at the computer and not watch the movie, which usually adds a level of distraction for me...

...and it *STILL* scared the B'jeebus outta me like I was watching it alone, in the middle of the deep, dark night.

I found the ending to be chilling...like...to the bone!

Totally agree! And the deep Sumerian voices coming through?! It has NOPE written all over it!

When the dude levitated off the bed and did the "wide open jaw" thing and that voice came out, it really freaked me out.

On second viewing, I got a jump scare when he sat straight up, but the voice didn't have near the effect as the first viewing.

However her scream on the tape is still pretty chilling even after seeing it 3 times.

After watching this, I decided that I am never going under hypnosis.

I thought that the film was fantastic as well.
Aliens might be real after all.....

Movie tripped me out, but I saw it back when it first came out, so, that whole ending had me shivering.

I don't knnow why this movie gets so much flack. Yes Jovovich is a weak actress but it's probably the only alien movie that has genuinely ever frightened me; it's very eerie.
