Got to +1000 this. True for Defying Gravity, true for this.
For anyone who thinks you have to fudge the science to make drama, no. If it's not warp drives and magic then go with straight up physics, and build a human story around that.
Still cannot see why you could not make a straight up dramatic series on a near-future spaceship with no:
- Aliens
- Reality TV
- Product placement
- Instant magic radio home
- Constant sex
- Kids
- Funny robots
- Mystical anything
