Pretty good game. (slight spoilers)

I'm old enough to remember the original Wolfenstein...and I don't mean 3D either.

Played through the game today, while it's hardly groundbreaking. It's damn good fun.
It's not Call Of Duty, so it's definetly not serious. But it's a good solid shooter.

Though it does start badly...and I mean really badly.
The first few weapons are just terrible. The rifle is probably the worst rifle I have used in a FPS...but you can upgrade the weapons in the black market. This is when things get much better. After putting on a sniper scope, a clip instead of individual rounds, etc. That really bad rilfe becomes badass.
It's one of the few games when the upgrades make a massive difference.

Then there is the supernatural element of "The Veil".
A nice little medalion you acquire that gives you certain other worldly powers. From slowing time, sheild and overly powerful shooting (damn good fun).

Pretty big game too.
You have a "free roaming" town in which you get your main missions. But there are side quests to find too. Then the town is actualy split into sections, so it's a lot bigger then you first realise.
Just as I thought I was nearing the end of the game, I get sent to another part of the town where there are more main and sub missions to do.
From missions in a train yard, to warehouses, a church, a farm, etc. Niothing you have not seen before. But somehow still a lot of fun to play.

Then there are the "collectables".
In this game they are split into 3 types.
Gold, use this to pay for upgrades.
Intel, these unlock new upgrades for weapons.
Tomes, These unlock upgrades for your medalion.
So there is plenlty of stuff to hunt out. That "free raoming" town becomes a nice place to explore.

Overall, while nothing "new". Still a good FPS that is not serious, worth a play with plenty to see and do along the way. It does start on a bad note, but play a while and you'll see it does get better as you progress.

Gonna go back and play through on "Uber" difficulty now.

Edit: Finished it on "Uber", which is supposed to be the heardest setting. For a hard setting, it was not that hard. Felt more like a normal setting to me.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.
