HORRIBLE PIECE OF GARBAGE MOVIE

This movie is the most boring piece of garbage film. You can watch it if you want to but I would just like to express my opinion. The lead actor playing Alan Quatermain was dreadful and I couldnt stand to watch his fake acting. This movie reminds me of some boring television movie of the week but even worse. The girl in the film was so ugly looking with so much makeup on that didnt help .. Where were the films makeup crew.. You could see pimples on their faces and they just looked plain ugly.. hahahaha.. When Quatermain took off her boot nice and slow the only thing that would appeal to would be a foot fetish person.. Looked like she just stepped off of american idol..her dress didnt even fit her properly.. Was way too small and made her look fat.. The costume design just didnt fit the film at all. You got some young guy wearing a suit jacket and shes trying to look like something out of little house on the prairie.. and quatermains outfit just looked plain stupid. Nothing could save this film.. Not even Angela Jolie and Harrison Ford could save this nonsense , stupid script , no action junk. Say whatever you like and anyone who likes this is dumb themself. Im looking forward to a good film with Indiana Jones and the way these types of adventures are suppose to be made. Hey Quatermain shoot me now and put me out of my misery from having to remember this piece of crap

You say individuals like myself are dumb because we like it, but you are not very bright yourself pal. It is extremely stupid to think it wasn't filmed with true Zulus. Do you think The Asylum perfectly faked Africa? LOL! They were clearly there and it would make sense to feature the true Zulus there. To insist that it couldn't happen (why the hell not?) is BEYOND STUPID, but I do agree with your anticipation for the new Indy. Can't wait to see it.

P.S. - I was just reading up on the Zulus and decided to look up the guy you said looked like "Samuel L Jackson trying hard to be a chief". He's the real deal: http://www.places.co.za/html/stewarts_farm.html

I'm a huge B-movie fan and I defend my choices in movies against all comers but Movie-Guy, you do come across as a Asylum hack.

Oh and the new Indy movies is good right up until the end, which falls apart. The closing scene with the near miss on the 'passing of the torch' was quite funny as well. It was well done.

shadowphile-

Thanks for the criticism. Here's some in return: It's great that you are a B-movie fan who defends your choices against all comers, but your failure to get "film-guy" right while being critical (a "hack" is a writer of low quality) makes you seem both impolite and idiotic.

Good comments regarding the new Indy movie. I loved the near miss. Very funny indeed!

reply

There is defending your right to choose and then there is coming off as an Asylum house organ, which unfortunately, film-guy, you do. You pump the Asylum pictures a little too much for it to be natural.

Either that or you are their number one fan.

Feel free to call me impolite and idiotic, if you feel that way. My skin is thick enough to take a few pokes, unlike some of the people I've seem posting on IMDB. You'd think they took everything they read here seriously!

"You pump the Asylum pictures a little too much for it to be natural."

Not true.

"Either that or you are their number one fan."

That could be. I enjoy many of their flicks.

"Feel free to call me impolite and idiotic, if you feel that way. My skin is thick enough to take a few pokes, unlike some of the people I've seem posting on IMDB. You'd think they took everything they read here seriously!"

Now that we've got the insults out of the way: It is a pleasure to meet you shadowphile. I admire your sense of humor, your thick skin, and your love of B movies. What are your favorite B movies?

reply

The list changes with my mood but there are always a few in my top ten that don't change.

Ator the Fighting Eagle - just plain bad.

She - a post apocalyptic version of the E Rider Haggard novel

Blood and Donuts - a Canadian vampire flick.

Hearts and Armour - It's a spaghetti crusade!

Barb Wire - they put a plot in my bad movie!

reply

Great list shadowphile! I've enjoyed all of the B movies you mentioned.

Ator is fun. Did you ever see the three follow-ups to it? The second one is often called simply The Blade Master which I always thought sounded like a kitchen appliance. The fourth movie is known by various titles including Ator III. You know it's a quality fourth movie when it's numbered III. Another great "barbarian" B movie from the 80's is Yor, the Hunter from the Future. Ever see it?

SHE is a lot of fun! It isn't exactly what Haggard wrote (to put it mildly), but it's fine example of the B movie tradition of taking Haggard's superb writings and twisting them into some very entertaining B movies. I'm looking forward to getting King Solomon's Treasure on DVD. The dinosaurs are so terrible that it's great! LOL!

Blood and Donuts! Nice! It's a charming little movie. I like it a lot.

Hearts and Armour is also a good pick, but I haven't seen it in years. I definitely need to track down a copy and watch it again.

"Barb Wire - they put a plot in my bad movie!"
Yes they did and it's CASABLANCA! LOL!

I recently picked up K.Gordon Murray's Santa Claus. Have you seen it? It's insane!

reply

They made Ator sequels? I wasn't aware of that. I missed Yor but I did see Dungeonmaster with Richard Mull as the devil. Now there is a great B movie. Beastmaster is also a great one from that era and who could forget Hawk the Slayer?

Are you a fan of the Ray Harryhausen dinosaurs?

I missed Santa vs Satan but i have seen Santa Conquer the martians!

reply

Santa Conquers the Martians is without a doubt the best Martian/Santa Claus movie ever to feature Pia Zadora! LOL!

Ator was followed by Ator the Blade Master (aka The Blade Master), Ator the Iron Warrior (aka Iron Warrior), and Quest for the Mighty Sword (aka Ator III: the Hobgoblin). I agree with you 100% on Dungeonmaster. It is a great B movie. I also really like Hawk the Slayer. Good fun!

I love Ray Harryhausen dinosaurs! I was fortunate to meet Mr. Harryhausen. He was kind enough to be interviewed for a movie radio show that I had. He is an extremely nice gentleman. What's your favorite Ray Harryhausen movie?

Have you visited Bmovienews.net? I learn something new each time I visit that site. I was introduced to it by the good doctor spiderman who posts on here. It's a great source of info about B movies.

reply

I was a member of badmovies.org for a while. I missed a chance to get my copy of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad signed by Harryhausen because I couldn't get into Toronto when he was getting a lifetime achievement award.

I haven't been on that site but I'll check it out.

Nice Indiana Jones rip-off!! this movie sucks!

''Not true.''

True! Whenever there is an Asylum film getting some flack you appear to defend it; like a deranged, brain-damaged superman.

''That could be. I enjoy many of their flicks.''

If you are for real it would mean that you are the only real fan of Asylum. That is nothing to be proud of.

''What are your favorite B movies?''

It would be presumptuous for me to speak for Shadowphile, but I know my favourite B-Movies are anything NOT by Asylum.

Shadowphile I really wasn't expecting an Indiana Jones end spoiler here. Next time think before you say stuff like that.

reply

I hardly considered that a 'spoiler', considering how insignificant it was. There are many other far greater slips that could have been made. However, I do apologize if you feel my comment was a spoiler. It wasn't intended to be such.

''You say individuals like myself are dumb because we like it...''

If you are not dumb, why do you actually like an Asylum flick? You might not be dumb friend, but you have awful taste in movies.
