MAKE A SEQUEL, DAMNIT.

Basically, I'm going to slip into a coma if they don't make a decent sequel for this, at minimum, if not a trilogy. I mean all the parts are there. This story is FAR from resolved.

Zack Snyder has already stated that he will likely make a sequel in the future.

You do realize that this movie is based on a book series do you? You should read them.

"We do not inheret the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"

reply

I have read the first 5 books in the series.

reply

The way he did the first movie, the whole series could be told in 3 or 4 more movies.

Movie 2:The Siege, The Shattering, the Burning
Movie 3:The Hatchling, The Outcast, The Golden Tree
Movie 4:The River of Wind, Exile, The War of the Ember
The First Collier, The Coming of Hoole, and To Be a King could be made into a prequel movie

reply

I agree with the second movie, but I think the third should be The Hatchling and The Outcast, since that mainly focused on Coryn rather than the band, so maybe the fourth movie should Golden Tree, River of Wind and Exilel. War of the Ember should be it's own movie, cause I don't want to see them cram the final book into 20 min. like they did in this movie, at least what elements of The Rescue they had.

I'm not sure it made enough money for there to be a sequel. That's usually how the movie business works.

As long as his brother comes back

They could make several more films as there are so many books in the series. Kludd becomes the new leader of the pure ones

But, any animated movie scoring 7 or higher is IMO pretty much guaranteed to get a sequel eventually. (Looking at you Rango!)

"This isn't TV, it's real life. Can't you tell the difference?"
"Sure - I just like TV better."

reply

??????????

It lost money.

No sequel

reply

Grossing $56 M at a budget of $80 M is not that bad anymore.

reply

Lost Money ?

Cost 80M and had an income of 140M ...

How is that losing money my stupid friend ?

reply

You have to keep in mind that not the whole ticket revenues go directly to the studios. The cinemas also want to earn some money. I have heard that the revenues must be approx. twice as high as the costs to reach the break-even point.

That's just weak songwriting. You wrote a bad song, Petey.

You know how much money Avatar made in the cinema worldwide ? 5.6 billion , but only 2.7 billion . The profit you see in IMDB and Box Office Guru it's the profit after the what the movie theaters take.

I'm sorry for the bad english.

reply

It is definitely Hollywood accounting at its finest. IMDB doesn't list a total worldwide sales figure (or I didn't see it). But $140million seems about right for what I saw on the page where totals are listed.

I really hope a second one is made. But it has to be advertised correctly. Whoever was in charge of advertising completely missed the target audience. They made it seem like the target audience was the 2-13 crowd, but this movie is solidly in the 13+ crowd.

I hope they make a sequal.
How are the dvd sales? If it makes a big buck on dvd maybe the studios would want to make more.

Walden media still made Voyage of the Dawn Treader after Prince Caspian underperformed.
