the names arent even accurate in here & no one named Donner or James, the only survivor

It was okay. Not terrible but not amazing either. They definitely played with some of the historical facts for dramatic effect, and I found the ending to be rather anticlimactic. There was also some confusion regarding the passage of time, as it seemed like the group would eat one person right after the other, when in reality there probably had been many days in-between. Crispin Glover did a great job in his role though.

I saw this film in LA at the Laemmle Theater on the 14th. I thought the film was good. I would give it a 7-8 out of 10.

The film focuses on a small group that tries to hike out of the mountains, not the entire Donner party.

The film definitely conveys the situation these people faced. It is shot very well and the music is great. Overall great production value. It keep my attention.

i think that's all it's worth. was so looking forward to this but am really disappointed. the adaptation sucks, focusing on only part of the story; the constant woeful music detracts further, apart from the liberties taken with the facts. this views like a b grade midday movie, not an independent movie at all. can't believe, given the power of the real events, this is the best they could do.pathetic.
