WILL SMITH

Two words:

Robin Williams

Not only would he kill the audience in the Kodak and at home with his gift, but he would boost up the relatively sagging ratings of the Oscars.

Robin Williams = most over rated and unfunny comedian of all time.

reply

Robin Williams is definitely the best choice.

reply

How about Tina fey??

reply

Tiny Fey is a good choice. She has the passion and humor for comedy and would definitely make a great host for the Oscars.

And no, Robin Williams is one of THE funniest comedians on all time.

Either Tina Fey, Robin Williams or maybe Ricky Gervais, still think it's too bad he was'nt chosen to host this year

reply

Ricky was considered; there were talks that he could do it. For some reason, it never fell through...

Oh, well, there's next year :)

Robin Williams would blow it out of the water.

Hugh Jackman again ;-) Why to change a host every year? He was great. But if he wouldn´t be available then definitely Tina Fey - it´s time for a woman to shine for a change ;-)
What was so great about Will Smith that makes you think he could host the Oscars? Just wondering, that´s all.

I'd argue that not only does Will Smith have a commanding presence, certainly in film and television, but also a great gift of comedic timing. I have seen interviews with him and he can be downright funny. A combination of his humor and emcee skills can make him a great candidate for the Oscars, at least one of them.
