Twist Ending

What is it?

reply

I'm willing to bet money that the girl he meets at the party is the girl that has been playing games under the alias of Nicole with him.

reply

I'm also wondering. Can someone who's seen it fill us in on the ending plz?

reply

It was a dude the whole time.

I figured it was allso.

reply

If it was a guy, why did he sound like a very sensual woman? Was it a Crying Game kinda thing?

I'm just curious what the story is there.

reply

I was kidding.

reply

Well you were right, it was a guy. I just bought it on iTunes. I honestly loved the movie except for the ending. Nicole being a guy ruined it for me.

reply

That was too easy. For an independent it has such a predictable ending.

reply

I'm not sure what you mean by "easy." Obviously, "Nicole" being a guy is supposed to be a surprise, but I don't think the film's merit lies in this as some big reveal. It's a character study about a lonely, socially awkward guy who is dealt a shock. How this may change Davy is the real question at the end. I mean, we know he's not gay, but will this experience allow him to come out of his shell?

reply

Thats because its based on a true story.

I believe in Steve Austin and his plan to put a casino on the moon

reply

So can someone please answer my original question? How come Nicole sounds like a woman if she/he's really a man? And what does Davy do once he finds out?

I don't have the ability to see this movie, but I'd love to know how and why it ends the way it does. Could anyone provide more details, plz???

reply

##SPOILERS## Why is it shocking that a man can sound like a woman? Ha ha I don't even try and am often called "ma'am" on the phone. The guy being Nicole has some issues of his own and probably has some power trip over the guys he calls. As for the ending, it is unclear. Davy decides to go ahead and meet with the guy in the restaurant. This has evidently happened before...a seemingly straight guy meets "Nicole" and ends up having the full gay experience. My perception is that the very lonely Davy is attached to this person, even if he now knows its a guy. The ending is vague and abrupt for interpretation, but I believe all things considered, they probably both ended up in his hotel room.

reply

Well from the trailer that sounded like a full on woman.Do you have a Roseanne female voice or full on female voice? Now its one thing for a guy not having a deep voice. But he sounded like he was on estrogen and had a vagina. Any other guy after being scammed like that would go and fu0ck his sh!t up.Someone as lonely as Davy would have went crazy and killed the guy.

reply

My problem was the "female" voice not at all matching the man at the end. I mean, I just didn't buy it was the same person, and not because "Aaron" did such a fantastic female voice, because I'm sure he didn't (I didn't pay attention to the credits, but I doubt they were the same person.) If Aaron would have said he used a voice modifier I would have liked that much better,or, find an actor who truly can sound like a woman. Otherwise, I liked the film, mainly because of the actor playing Davey.

reply

I actually think Aaron (when he and Davey first meet and his voice was soft/whispery/nervous) did sound like Nicole!

That seems like an extreme reaction. Yes, I think most men would be angry and hurt that they had their feelings jerked around with. But I think only self-loathing homophobes would behave that violently.

reply

Thats bs. Nobody is talking about assaulting random gay guys. But beating up this guy that tricked someone into thinking they were a woman. He had in his mind that this was some hot woman on the other line. He even turned down two hot chicks. I'm not saying beat him up because he is gay. He deserves a beat down because he screwed with the guy.And its not even the first time and he keeps doing it. In real life he would eventually contact a serial killer or some other psycho and end up in a shallow grave.

reply

Okay, maybe I was hasty playing the gay bashing card.(?) I just think violence is a bit much.
I'll just mumble some cliche crap about the differences between how women and men handle icky emotions under my breath and call it a day.

No hard feelings.

If you watched the movie you'd notice that Davey isn't that type of person to lash out and just kill the guy because he was tricked. He was sweet plus I'm assuming he felt some type of connection with him since they, essentially, were both messed up.

I thought it was especially sweet, that Davey hugged the man at the end. No, Davey was'nt gay, he was pissed about being lied to, but his hug was a "yeah, we are lonely and messed up but I don't hate you"
