Yes. This redheaded bratty little b!tch tried to curse her mother to death with a pie... after her mother probably spent months, days in and day out, tirelessly making that quilt for her. Do women today even understand how hard it was to sew anything without sewing machines?

Yes, she had clearly put a lot of herself into the design and making of it but, if you look at it closely its a FLAWED design as it represents Queen Elinor`s idea of how the kingdom should work.
A close examination of the tapestry`s design helps a lot if you want to figure out some of the deeper levels of the plot.
Equally, consider Merida`s bow, the one her mother burned. That was clearly her most prized possession and it was obvious that she had spent a lot of time decorating and carving it only to have it destroyed by her mother.
