I agree. We need more show like that these days.

While I was very critical of this show at the beginning, I have religiously watched every episode and posted many comments, both pro and con. But I did continue to watch because James Purefoy and his character have such a magnetic charisma, and the locations and themes are quite realistic and relevant in the world's current events.

But I notice that most of this forum's comments are posted by the same people, so maybe there's only about a dozen of us tuned in to watch each week, and the concensus is that the show will disappear.

I believe the show may have had a great potential in the long run. If you recall, the original Star Trek television series was cancelled due to low ratings, and we all know what happened after that.

Sorry for my TV history ignorance (I didn't grow up in the States!)--what do you mean--the original ST was cancelled? What happened to bring it back?

Also, for the record, there are plenty of people who were and still are watching online...tons of comments all over the web...it seems that the show has a decent following outside the US as well from the looks of what I've been seeing. It'll be a shame if the network doesn't give it a chance to develop those non-US audiences further. I mean, look at how Heroes stuck it out through a terrible season/ratings, thanks to its very broad non-US fan-base (I know, that's just one of the factors, but I think it's a significant one).

I love this show cause it's different to anything i'd usually watch.

Tuned in initially as I had started to forget what Neve Campbell looked like however you could take her out of it and I would still watch as she never really got much to do anyway and it was still great.

We want more too!!! However, the show was officially canceled on October 21st. Since then a group of us fans have been working to bring the show back. Our website is savethephilanthropist.org . We also have a Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/savethephilanthropist), a Facebook Causes page (http://apps.facebook.com/causes/380724/88417385), and a Twitter account (http://twitter.com/savethephilanth). We are planning to go public with our efforts soon.

In the meantime, considering the situation in Haiti Save The Philanthropist has started a campaign to raise money for The Restavek Foundation, an organization dedicated to saving young children from child slavery in Haiti. These children will be hit very hard by the earthquake since they are already separated from their biological families. Many of them will be stranded with nowhere to go so The Restavek Foundation, who has also been effected by the quake, needs your help to rebuild and to continue their efforts to seek out and rescue these young lives.

According to their latest update (Saturday, January 16, 2010), The Restavek Foundation urgently needs donations.

“It is hard to get resources into the area, but they (the staff members) can buy things, unfortunately the price of things has doubled now. The more money we get them, the more aggressive they can be in helping those children and families in urgent need! The donation will ultimately dictate HOW we will move forward in the coming days, months years as a foundation. We really need this more than actual supplies at this time.”

For more information please visit: http://savethephilanthropist.org/2010/01/16/haiti-relief-raising-money -for-the-restavek-foundation/

Save The Philanthropist does NOT receive any compensation or any percentage of the donations being sent to The Restavek Foundation. Know that 100% of your donation will go directly to The Restavek Foundation.

why would you use heroes as an example? they gave it chance and chance again to do well but the show kept getting worse and worse they should of canceled it after the second season and gave its chances to a show that actually deserved it.

You are so right about that. That show was different, refreshing and brillant. Not s### that's on TV these days like big brother etc...

I'd totally love to see this show come back. It just wasn't on during the right time. If I can recall it was summer programming and it came on at about 9pm eastern (or, was it 10?). It's on my Xmas list. Because, I WILL watch it over and over again. Characters were great. The stories are ones I want to share w/ my kids, too.
