Opening scene question (SPOILER)

We see Eva Green sitting outside the isolated beach house saying "you went away, I talk to you and don't mind if you don't answer. You left me a gift" She. then rubs her pregnant belly.

HOWEVER- she didn't move to that house until the clone was about 10 years old.
Both men "went away"

Was it then possible she was pregnant by the clone?
Or did I miss something about the beach house?

reply

i think she is pregnant from the clone. because her hair is short in that scene, she only has it that length after the clone is born. i didnt really notice untill i rewatched it but i think you are right

reply

lol. Well, NOW I am really confused! But neat ending, kind of, if this is the case....ending & beginning again...cool.

reply

oh god yes.. omg, i didn't realise yes.. she does get pregnant again in the end of the movie and is shown as such in the very beginning of the movie..

reply

You are absolutely correct. I tend to focus on continuity during films, so when I noticed that Rebecca still had long, curly-ish hair during her pregnancy with Clone Tommy and not the short, straight hair from the opening I figured something was up. Then, they didn't live in that beach house until after the clone was born. After the credits started, I started the movie over and rewatched that first scene and, sure enough, she looks to be the older Rebecca. So, her boyfriend died, she cloned him and gave birth to his clone, then raised him, then slept with him, then had his child. Would that make it her grandchild? I'm super confused LOL

reply

That wouldn't be her grandchild because she wasn't related to either Tommy 1 or 2 genetically.

reply

Oceeana you are a genius for pointing this out. I completely missed it! Yes now that I think about her short hair, I am sure the clone's rape got her pregnant.

reply

I'm not sure about being a genius...just observant. Thank you divya!
