flying question

The faries can't fly unless they have pixie dust, rendering their wings pointless and just for show. So why couldn't they fly when the rain got their wings wet? If the wings don't give them the ability to fly, why did that even matter!!! Ugh!

Did I say that? No.

I guess because when you're that size, raindrops are huge and knock you to the ground? If you saw B Movie, the bees couldn't fly in rain either.

No, they mentioned the wings being wet and not being able to fly because the wings were wet.

Maybe they don't use their wings for lift but for disseminating the pixie dust on their bodies, i.e., they flap their wings to spread the pixie dust that lets them fly. When their wings are wet, they can't flap them, and so they can't spread their pixie dust. Just a guess.

Actually, now that I think of it, the pixie dust should still allow them to fly regardless of wet wings, since Lizzie was able to fly despite getting wet, being much more massive than fairies, and having no wings at all. Those dishes didn't require wings to levitate either. Fairy membrane wings shouldn't absorb much water, but even birds & bats can still fly with their wings soaking wet (though they prefer not to). Hey, it's magick: Doesn't have to be logical. Just go with it. ;-)

If we are being picky; If a fairy is born when a baby laughs for the first time, what is the purpose of male / female fairies?
