One thing I kept thinking about...

To be honest, more than finding out who the killer was I was interested in knowing if Do-joon really had slept with his mother. There were a couple of scenes that were ambiguous, but still struck me as kind of strange. For example, mother walking up to Do-joon when he's peeing and staring at his penis, when Do-joon comes in late and puts his hand on her breast as he gets into bed, or perhaps the most convincing -- when one of the two boys that Jintae beats up asked "Does he just sleep with her, or does he *beep* her?" -- resulting in Jintae getting visibly angry and kicking him in the face.

I mean, if they didn't want us to at least think about this they wouldn't have planted these scenes. What are your thoughts on their relationship?

I think since the son had mental problems that they didn't.
He probably just thought "sleeping with his mother" meant that they just slept in bed together, nothing sexual.
Those scenes you mentioned are probably just instances of them being closer than most families (I guess), and in Jintae's case, angry at them for making fun of his friend.

Overbearing mother + they living situation.

1 bedroom.

Penis thing... Keep in mind this guy is mentally disabled. he has not outgrown some of his toddler to childish behaviors. He's not embarrassed about his private parts even though he's old.

Basically the Mother treats him like a 5 year old. She was probably just looking at his penis as he wee'd like she did when he was actually 5 - she treats him the same but also because he is actually a grown man, she has to give him some freedom, hence him going out with his mates, drinking, etc...

Regarding the peeing scene, I think she was concerned regarding his pee color? Coz if you remember she is giving him some kind of a herbal tonic at the same time. Anyways, I don't think they had any kind of an incest relationship going on. A subtle kind of Oedipus complex? Yes. But having sex together? No.

I don't think so either but they really could've (should've) left out his hand cupping and squeezing her breast when he got into bed. I guess directors do things like that because they all seem to think throwing in ambiguous things to keep the audience wondering and talking about the film makes it "deeper".

I didn't think about her peeking on him whilst he was peeing being linked but now that you bring it up I do agree that it points in that kind of direction. Obviously when he says on the golf course that he sleeps with his mother you just assume that he doesn't understand what it means but the scene where he starts groping her breast and she replies that it's too late does make it seem like they might be having an incestuous relationship together. It's brought up a lot of times by different characters in the film so the director was obviously implying that it might be happening, unfortunately though I don't think there's any definitive proof in the film, so it's just going to stay ambiguous.
