why was reporter filmin nic cage at the zoo
nic cage had to follow the woman and her kids at the zoo and also to look out for the reporter and im puzzled as to why the reporter was at the zoo in the first place
shareIt was never explained, I guess it could possibly be a plot hole as to why the whole thing began at the zoo. Its possible the reporter was tipped off to go to the zoo by Simon or someone else so that the reporter could be on the look out for Nick Cage's character.
Since Simon was supposedly setting Nic Cage up for the murder, it would be helpful in convicting him if they found the video on the reporters phone which would explain why he was recording nic cage's character. The women and kids, who knows? Simon might have said anonymously to the reporter that there was someone looking for him who would be following the women and kids, so the reporter would know who to look for. It would also explain why the reporter acted so hostile to nic cage's character on the bridge, if the reporter was tipped off that he was trying to kill him.
Again, this is all speculation (unless I missed something), but I think it could be plausible, maybe its explained in a deleted scene or directors cut version.
You call it a possible plot hole then explain rather effectively exactly what it is and how it works. You shouldn't second-guess yourself, dude! ;-)
