My pet peeve with this and other historical movies...

Why do they make everything look so old and worn? What's with all the grime and grit in the capsule interiors? The spacecraft were brand-new when they were flown. When they landed on the moon all the knobs were dusty and gritty and they hadn't even set foot on the moon yet. And the Armstrong house--didn't they pay their electric bill?

The space capsules were new, and were assembled and maintained in extremely clean environments. Yet in this silly movie they looked as if they had been lying around in a swamp for fifty years, rusty and filthy. Total BS.

I have learned since I posted this 4 years ago that the interiors are a bit worn when they are flown. The reason is because of the extensive testing that is done with each vehicle beforehand.
