Bad meaning Bad

Wow, two hours and not one laugh. The constant cutting between shows was just a show-offy gimmick that undermined any rhythm Rock established. The material was simply NOT FUNNY.

And what was with the black people practically having seizures in the crowd? Screaming with laughter, twisting around in their seats...it's like they were saying "He's funny...and he's ONE OF US!" I'd love to have seen their reaction when he actually used to be funny.

What parts in particular were so funny? I'm not saying you're wrong and I don't mind being the butt of a joke or three, but it seemed much more preaching than joke telling. Kinda like Jon Stewart these days, he seems to go for applause, not laughs.

I'd have to agree with you.

Currently watching it on E4 in the UK, and I've not actually laughed yet, only smiled.

It's been on half an hour, and it's got another half hour to convince me it's good, cos if I don't laugh by then, I'm gonna turn it for the start of Die Hard 2

That's the first Chris Rock show I turned off after 60 minutes into it. Just plain boring and no prospect of it getting any funnier. I found the black men in the crowd twisting and turning in laughter just so out of place. But then what do I know... a white east European.
Couple of smiles here and there but that's pretty much it. And the last 2 HBO specials I practically memorized them ...they were so great. Hopefully that doesn't mean he's going downwards.
