Next Batman Series?

Is there going to be a new Batman series after this one? Is DC and WB planning a new one? I think after this show, we should have a new darker Batman series that is based on the animation of Batman: Under the Red Hood.

I don't know about the 'darker' bit though...Batman media adaptations often tend to reflect the dominant trends in the comics. Batman TAS, the Nolan films and the recent crop of animated one-offs are largely reflective of the darker vision of Batman that was prevelent until pretty recently. Now however, Batman seems to be showing a lighter trend, what with Batman Inc. and all the other stuff going on now. Brave and the Bold was part of this trend, and it seems probable that this lighter trend might follow in the near future.

Yes, a CGI Batman show is in development, to be produced by James Tucker. Tucker has indicated that the new series will be darker and more serious. We won't see it until sometime after the debut of next year's Green Lantern animated series.

It be great to know more about the new CGI Batman series. I'm not all that crazy about it being CGI, but I guess only time will tell. Which bat characters will be in it?

At this point, you know pretty much as much about the new series as I do. I'm guessing that it won't premiere until late 2011 or 2012. We will just have to wait for more information.

The new CGI Batman cartoon won't premier until 2012, most likely Fall 2012. It's being produced by James Tucker, and Bruce Timm. The same animation studio who does Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series will be doing it. James Tucker has said it'll be darker, and more serious then Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Rumor is they'll be getting Kevin Conroy back as Batman for it.

CGI? Ew.

It works for The Clone Wars. But DC shows need to stick with traditional animation.

Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos

Sadly that's not the way things are going, both the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and the new Batman series after TBATB will both be CGI. Ironically enough it's from the same animation studio who does The Clone Wars.

I'm don't really find that ironic.

It does make me happy though as I love Clone Wars, and haven't seen anyone do CG animation better on television.

There's a new upcoming Batman Animated Series in the works, one of the reason as to why Batman the Brave and the Bold has been cancelled (only 13 episodes in the upcoming season 3)

They said it's going to be dark DARK, joking "I think Batman's gonna be a serial killer in the next one'

I didn't find any source saying it's going to be CGI as in 'Green Lantern: The Animated Series', but now, CGI also means 'NOT traditionnal animation' as in not hand-drawn.

I truly hope the upcoming BATMAN show will use the Young Justice designs; Updated, Modern and as Realistic it can get in a Sci-Fi superhero cartoon.

Sounds like it could be heavily inspired by Frank Miller and Bob Kane's Batman (with a dose of Tim Burton thrown in as well probably)

Here's a video interview with producer James Tucker from a few months back where he briefly discusses the next Batman animated series: http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/1007/24/tucker1.htm.
