Chill of the night episode; a missed opportunity.

This episode was based on an original comic story by Bob Kane where Joe Chill is found out by the other mobsters that it was his killing the Batman's parents that set him off as the scourge of the Gotham underworld and they gun him down for it.

To avoid the censors they had to have Chill die in a ceiling cave-in rather than a mob execution and instead of common thugs killing him its all of Batman's famous adversaries who take turns beating him up for it.

Batman swoops in and defeats them all before addressing a dying Chill on the irony of how Batman 'Got him' after all.
Now here's the missed opportunity.

Batman or some one else (Gordon perhaps) would then address all of Batman's imprisoned adversaries with this;

"To think all these years Batman's REAL agenda was just this two-bit common street thug. While all of you, for all your Jokes, Riddles, Trick Umbrellas, Poisonous plants, Freeze guns and Fear gasses, you were all nothing more than flamboyant buffoons getting in his way that he had to slap down as nuisances while he pursued Chill.
Think about that for all the sleepless nights to come in your jail cells.
You were ALL nothing more than Collateral Damage to Batman!"

I'd give anything to see the look on all their faces! 😉
