Sadly! Most people couldn't understand this show.

I'm ready for the vitriolic responses, but what I said is true! This show was a great combination of ALL the history of Batman! The first thing I loved about this show was that it was not the same "dark, brooding, unfunny" Batman. That has been done to death, unfortunately it will be coming back. It was extremely refreshing to see Batman as a "cartoon character"!! And, throughout this series, it paid homage to just about every incarnation of Batman there has been (movies, tv, comics). You have to look at the backgrounds, listen to the dialogue, observe the artwork. It was a masterful series that appealed much as the same way the 1960's BATMAN did. One one level, my kids loved the action and adventure. I, on the other hand, liked the subtle details and 'inside jokes' that I saw on a weekly basis. Look, I understand not everyone will agree, but this show was so much smarter that given credit for. I'm sorry to see it go. But I am a Batman fan, and anxiously await any chance to see what comes next!

This was probably my second favorite Batman series after TAS.

Oh well, I guess the "dark and brooding" Bat-junkies will get their way once again.

Who knows? Maybe the next Batman series will essentially be Batman & Son, with Damian (Bruce and Talia's son) as Robin.

If you're a troll, does that make your mother a trollop? (Relax--this is only a siggy!)

reply

Nope, the "next" Batman show (Beware the Batman) sucked the big one.

You can't really blame me. I grew up on TAS batman and every single reincarnation since then has been a dark character. When it comes to DC cartoons, Bruce Timm has created the basic structure for most of those characters. Then, out of nowhere, this smiling, cheery, happy Batman comes when years of the show have told me that Batman is dark? Most people in that preteen - young adult demographic don't know the lighter, Adam West Batman style.

I love this show & am sad it only got 3 seasons.

It was only ever going to get 3 seasons as Cartoon Network was going to create a new show for new fans of the character after The Dark Knight Rises came out.

If you pirate media, you do not get to have an opinion on it.

there were some good eps - as Batmite referenced in the final ep - but more bad than good. this was just too light of a batman show - and the joker was horribly drawn and cast. young justice is already 10x better and has only aired 9 (10) episodes so far. looking forward to the darker CGI Batman series that will be next.

Ugh. Young justice isn't good anywhere. Full of cliché and superficial characters. Tried to watch a few episodes but grew bored quickly.

When it first started I watched it and didn't care for it because I thought it was way too silly. Then about a year later I tried watching it again and then I realized what it was. This show is a shameless love letter to the Silver Age and how wonderfully goofy it was. The number of characters they throw into the mix is so amazing. The people behind this show know their DC history and it shows. Once I figured this out it all clicked and now this is one of my favorite Batman shows of all time. It is so sad that they didn't renew it.

This show was awesome. I am kind of happy it ended how it did. I love when cartoons i love break down the 4th wall. And i nearly spit my drink when i heard batmite talk about how to make a show jump the shark and his last one was, "and of course, hire ted mccginley". Even when McGinley broke the 4th wall again when he said Married with children was on for 7 years after he joined. And the final awesome piece, to have Henry Winkler, the so-called creator of the "Jump the shark" cliche, played Ambush Bug. So great, even shed a little tear at the end. Clearly, talking about married with children and jumping the shark, this show was not aimed to kids, but kids could watch it either way.

Yeah, as someone who likes his Batman dark; I was initially put off to the show when I first saw the character designs. I remember thinking "This is the '60's TV show all over again!" But after watching a few episodes, I was like, "OK, I get it now. It's the Silver Age Batman, but cooler". And throughout its 3 seasons, Batman: The Brave And The Bold has proved to be a hell of a good time. The scripts and animation are decent, I enjoy the continuity references and in-jokes, as well as seeing a few of the more obscure DC universe characters get their moment in the sun. It's light-hearted and family-friendly enough that it can provide a great entry-level introduction to the Batman mythos for younger viewers, while providing fun nostalgia for their parents. I'm actually relieved that they didn't make the mistake of trying to duplicate the dark depth of Batman: The Animated Series (still the best superhero cartoon ever made) as the awful The Batman tried to; and instead tried a different approach. And it's featured one of the best representations of the pivotal murder of Bruce Wayne's parents shown in any television medium. Admittedly, I'm not crazy about Batman's cape turning into a rocket pack(kind of misses the point of the character having no powers) and I don't like the show's take on the Joker, but what of it? B:TBATB remains a fun, well-cast, written and animated adventure cartoon, and it's a shame Cartoon Network is cancelling it they way they do with all their quality programming. Gotta make room for more live-action crap!

It was great, though I hope for a movie someday. I wonder if anything from the show will make it to the comics.

It will be sadly missed by me. I loved everything about it.

This was a great show plain and simple.

I don't like DC comics for the most part, but I had a great time watching Batman Brave & The Bold with my 7yr old. Plenty of jokes that adults could understand, and plenty to make him have fun as well. I especially loved the use of the Wonder Woman retro theme song and other meta-humor.

It's too bad that we won't have a show to watch together any more.

I tried to watch it once but I hated seeing Batman smiling! That said, it's a nice kids' show (far better than the utter rubbish churned out for young kids these days) and it's a great way of introducing wee ones to Batman.

I don't watch it much but I liked the show very much, to me its a cartoon version of the Adam West Batman that complements with the classic BTAS very well.

I'm perhaps one of the few who got, and loved, the Aquaman reference to Bat Shark Repellant. That was a classic reference to the 1960s Batman movie with Adam West and Burt Ward. Awesome stuff!
