I've just noticed .....

that one particular episode, the 1991 Redskins season, has an error in it.

It claimed QB Mark Rypen had held out during training camp that '91 year. I clearly remember that was the 1992 season training camp that he held out. Rypen was the MVP of that 91 season's SuperBowl and he wanted more money for the coming ('92) season.

Besides, that would make more sense to ask for more money only "after" a SuperBowl victory and being MVP in that SuperBowl. Especially a steamroller 14-2 season, which 1991 was. The owner, JK Cooke, wasn't in much of a mood for salary increases for anyone after the 88, 89 and 90 seasons. He would be after adding a third SuperBowl trophy to his showcase.

I don't think this did any tremendous damage to the story line for this episode but now I wonder what other episodes have errors.

I did not remember hearing about that at the time, so I looked it up on Google. Seems Charlie Casserly mentioned just within the last couple of years. I can imagine Gibbs and Casserly would have kept that very secret at the time and afterward since 1991 was a SB year for them. I wonder if Rypien ever picked up any rumors about that at the time. And I wonder what he thought when Casserly made it public years later. The NFL is a cold-blooded, cut throat business, indeed.

If Elway had come to Washington in 1991 I think Washington would have gone to the SB anyway because Gibbs was good and fielding championship teams regardless of the QB. I know that Gibbs would have liked to have Elway's deep strike throwing ability for his style of offense. If Elway had stayed in the league, and in Washington, until 1999 like he actually did in Denver, that would have been interesting to see what Norv Turner would do with an Elway even in the last part of Elway's career.

Dan Snyder would have still become owner of the Skin's in 99, Elway would still have retired in 99, so the Skins (under Snyder) would still be in the same shape that they're in today; carousel of coaches and starting QBs, aging Free agent busts etc.
