Writing and acting and singing is MUCH better. Dancing not so much but I don't blame them because it's supposed to be a show choir (NO OFFENSE). I think they've had some very clever lines. The trash talking scene was funny.

singing, probably, im not sure since i'm still skeptical if they were really the one's singing. a

nd Dancing, HM is a lot better, but point taken. it is after all still a show choir not a dance show.

Well, The first half of it, i was laughing at how Bad it was, but the last 30 minutes or so was Watchable, Though it was WAYYY to much drama between the two main people,

And HONESTLY Writers make them kiss at the start of the movie, instead of having the predictable ending

High school musical was all about drama between the two main people. It was also completely unoriginal a complete rip off of Grease which is an amazing movie and show while HSM is just not. Spectacular singers were much better and the story line much more original.

Yeah, she stated her opinion as well. Just because she didn't agree with YOUR opinion doesn't she mean she didn't respect it and was open to it. If she called you an "idiot" or something, then you would have reason for your reply. But she didn't, so you don't.

This one is a little bit more realistic then High school, plus with Disney being Disney they don't or can't step out of the box which I fully understand but Nickelodeon is now getting a little bit more matured themed shows and this film shows that. It has sarcasm and an edge that Disney does not do which is cool because Disney has always been that way but Nickelodeon has always been different and pushed the envelope just a little!~!

i thought this was better. one thing i loved about this compared to HSM is that the actors could sing so much better than the ones in HSM, which is one of the things i absolutely hate about hsm. plus i liked the songs more. also to me it wasn't as corny and lame.

I agree that it was good and applaud Nick 4 releasing a musical, but it did not do a very good job at appealing to the younger crowd like HSM though some characters are much more developed unlike HSM wher they did it in the sequels. And the conflict of HSM's Troy basketball and singing to Nikko's rocking and entertaining

It's very cute. It's not Broadway, and it's not Oscar worthy, but I agree with you. This was so much more enjoyable than High School Musical. I mean it's a musical about a Show Choir! That's something new and fun :)

I still say definetly better than HSM. My mother even said it, now she's not the biggest fan of HSM but she is very closely related to the shows and she said it was better, which made me happy. The dancing was bad, well not the dancing per say but the choreography. The characters were more likable, and the one dude was gay and if anyone tries to say he wasn't prepare to be slapped! Also Nick has a lot more guts than Disney, it had the kiss that was major points, and Nick is just not as afraid to hint at things as Disney is.

I went into this believing that it'd be similar to HSM & a complete ripoff, when that was not the case.

Let's face it. Nothing is completely original, but I think this is much closer than the Disney musicals. There are a number of things that I noticed while watching the movie, that I expected to go one way, & ended up another way.

I very much enjoyed this movie. My mother even did, & she hates Disney/Nick crap.

I really liked Spectacular, too, esp. since it's not a musical. I don't think there's a need to compare this to HSM since that's a musical and Spectacular isn't, it's a performance-based movie. Despite the slight predictability, there was definitely some level of unpredictability. I thought the songs and vocals in Spectacular were amazing, although Tammin's/Spectacular's cover of Eye of the Tiger, lacked a bit in energy, but that was probably to show how Spectacular fell into a crack since Royce left them for Tah-Dah and the other good ones graduated. The routines were great but not awesome, but the vocals made-up for that. The antagonists did no sabotaging, which was good, but I kind of felt sorry for Simon's character in the end. I liked how the comedic relief didn't overwhelm the dramatic/serious parts too. I think Nickelodeon did a fantastic job with this and definitely a 9/10.

And Nolan is much hotter than Zach so... XD hahaha ^_^

I kept getting interrupted so I'll have to watch it again but I don't think it was very well written or directed but I still liked it. I thought HSM had more substance (which is saying something since even it wasn't supposed to be too deep) but I get the feeling this will grow on me as Camp Rock had to. I hated CR the first time I saw it but have liked it since. I went in with super low expectations of HSM so I think that's why I liked it as much as I did.

But HSM has that cliche plot....
And it's kind of, predictable... I mean, don't get me wrong... I knew Spectacular was going to have a happy ending.
But it had at least more uniqueness... in my eyes....

I love this movie, actually. I think it's much more original than HSM and the singing and songs are better than HSM and even Camp Rock (although I do love Camp Rock). I also think the acting is better than both of them. So, people can put this movie down as much as they want, but it's really good for what it is: A kids/teen TV movie musical.
