How good is the Hel/Camero fight?

How good is the Hel vs. Camero fight in this movie? Is it violent? Long? It looks awesome.

reply

I loved it. They actually have two fights that are relatively close together in the film. The second one is better in my opinion. Both are awesome though. :D

A healthy baby is worth $10-20,000 on the internet, even if it's Chinese.

They just punch the hell out of each other for what seems like an eternity. Is that good? In my opinion, NO.

My opinion about the catfights between the girls in BITCH SLAP is really 50/50.On one hand the fights are amazingly well choreographed by Zoe Bell but the fights are way too long and overstay their welcome in the film, just like the too long and drawn out alley fight between Rowdy Piper and Keith David in John Carpenter's THEY LIVE.

The drawn out alley fight from They Live is always welcome in my home.

I loved it, personally. For two girls that aren't really trained for this kind of stuff, they handled the choreography quite well.

It was horrible. The acting, script, and lame one liners leading up to it are so are so bad thats its comical and painful to watch at the same time. This movie cannot even be taken seriously on any level. What is most annoying are the plot twists that come out of the blue and make no sense. Whoever wrote this should be blacklisted.

reply

Grats. You missed the entire point of the movie.

reply

I agree totally. It was a send-up of every ridiculous "girlploitation" flick (did you wander into the theater after the opening credits, lol!).

Anyway, I thought it was ridiculously over the top---in a good way---and I laughed my ass off. Loved the Vegas gun mele at the end--total WTF laughs.

It doesn't take itself too seriously--and you shouldn't either.

Um, it's supposed to be comical. You're not supposed to be taking it seriously on any level. And the plot twists coming out of the blue is one of the things that makes the movie fun. You had seriously wrong expectations for this film.

reply

When I said comical, I did not mean it in a good way. Everything previously stated is rue like it or not and I have lost interest in this topic as well as the board for that matter. I will not waste anymore time on this title.

reply

Good decision. Buh-bye.

I liked the first fight better.

The fight is AMAZING.
Only problem: They should be way more beaten up later in the fight! seriously, they are beating the sh!t out of each other! They should have like internal bleeding and sh!t.. but if you forget about that, the scene is brilliant :D

I absolutely loved the fights in this film, particularly the Hel/Camero ones (even if they ARE admittedly rather overlong... though it is the film's major climax).

Zoe Bell did a fantastic job as fight choreographer, and proves she's learned well from her years on several famous sets (from Xena to Kill Bill).

What I actually enjoyed most was - besides the fact nobody would really be alive after such beatings! - the fights were pretty "realistic"... no silly slow-mo wirework nonsense that 'The Matrix' ripped off from Hong Kong and somehow convinced everyone else to copy for the next ten years. In fact, no REAL martial arts at all... just "down and dirty" savage brawling.

And yet the fights are still very funny, too! :D

Are you serious? Maybe it is not matrix level, but those are way too choreographed with way too much kung fu aerobatic martial arts stuff. It works well with the movie, but it's far from being realistic.

It is awesome and you are going to love that fight scene when you watch it! I just wished that both Hel and Cameros tops were torn off to really show a cat fight in my opinion! That is what actually happens when two women fight in real life. LOL

You see hair pulled, biting, scratching, kicking, and anything else that makes it so much fun to watch in a movie.

It depends how you like catfight.

Just like Tarantino having unnecessary feet close-ups in his flicks, it's obvious that the maker of this movie has a thing for catfight. I think that's why the catfight scenes are very long.
Since I'm into both women feet and powerful femme fatale, I'm ok with both stuff.

If you are not into it, then you'll find it lame.

The second of the two is drawn out and overdone. The first sequence though, is amazing; great choreography and timing, really well filmed and edited.
