Such an amazing movie!!

Bitch Slap isn't typically a movie i would go see, but i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. the script was very well written. it was intelligent, witty, and finally had strong, no holds barred female characters. the actresses portrayed their characters brilliantly! i have followed america olivo's and julia voth's careers for a while now and i thought they both nailed these characters! they were hilarious. both really understood and committed to the exploitation genre. i thought america and julia were ballsy for not playing their performances safely. it was a great movie and i highly recommend it to all! it's nice to have a movie like this in circulation

I saw an early cut of this film yesterday, and I was blown away. I've been following the progress for like a year or so now, and I thought it looked like a good time, but I didn't really think there would be any intelligence in this film at all.

This was absolutely not the case. I really feel the marketing of Bitch Slap! does the film a huge disservice. I think it sells itself as a fanboy's inappropriate dream, and I've read scathing reviews about it where people tear it to pieces for being a "tease". I think a lot of people just wanted a TNA flick.

Bitch Slap! is not that film. Yes, there are tons of extremely exploitative shots and content that steer it in that direction. But one of its crowning achievements, I feel, is that it doesn't require loads of nudity to say what needs to be said. Nor does it fall back on nudity as a crutch for poor storytelling.

I had come into seeing this film expecting it to be another Hell Ride - as in, a steaming pile of manure with style.

Bitch Slap! brings so much more to the table. It delivers in every area that it sets out to achieve. The script is rock solid, the characters are well honed, the plot is balls out, and the twists pack a hell of a punch.

Go see this film. If you think you would enjoy a film that politely nods its head to classic exploitation cinema, there aren't many modern films that do it as effectively as Bitch Slap! Don't let the negative buzz steer you away, because you'll be missing out on a rare find.

Okay. Now I'm going to do his teeth and cut off his fingers. You might want to leave room.

it was hella entertaining. i'm itching to see it again.

and this movie has the best catfight ever! It totally blows away anything I've seen before! Zoe Bell does an amazing job choreographing it. I'll buy the DVD when it comes out just for the fight alone. I really hope they do Bitch Slap 2 and Hel features in it again, she was amazing.

I totally agree with ap-greaves! The fight scenes between Hel and Camaro are just amazing! I've been waiting for this movie 4ever and I finally got to see it before the year ended (talk about a great christmas gift) even though we have a while til it comes to dvd. This film definitely does not disappoint, I loved seeing Erin Cummings she was incredible as Hel, such a badass chick! She's my fav badass chick ever, and she downplays it at first which throws u off, I loved every second of seeing her. Check out Bitch Slap when u get the chance this movie is really awesome!

Bitch Slap is the best movie ever! Erin Cummings rocks my world!

What if these women had done the worst film on earth, would you be there singing for them to win an award, supporting them anyway?

What a coincidence, they did do the worst film on earth. What a complete waste of time. The fight sequences would have been not so bad, if they didn't have so many stylish blocks and show-moves. If you do not understand show-moves, research Jet Lee or Jackie Chan, this will help your investigation.

And the gay angle was weak and transparent; more prop from the communist-feminist ideology like it's some normal thing. And newspapers and broadcast stations are wondering why readers and viewers are deserting them in droves and gravitating towards the internet. Because the public is freaking tired of BS ultra-left Hollywood immorality infecting our lives, turning men into spineless, sport/sex-obsessed drunks and women into hardened, calculating neurotic combative nutcases. We are tired of pseudo-intellectuals that inject their fantasy ideology into every damn program that comes down the pike; ever wonder why a movie makes no sense, isn't funny, is pushed on the public despite having no redeeming qualities? To push agenda-based pseudo-entertainment.

(Cough, Avatar, cough).

Now we have another film that projects on the audience that lesbianism is cool, contemporary, funny, mischievous, etc. Uh, no, it holds women back from their potentials; instead of marriage and family being necessary things (it may not be for everybody, but it sure is for the majority), these ideologues push being single well into middle age (too late to start a family for most), and sex as merely a simple bodily function like a bowel movement instead of the context it works best in: love and commitment with the opposite sex which statistically is a society stabilizer and more times than not, leads to happiness (and for women: release, which comes from trust). So women who watch this crap are empowered to make bad choices, and are hopelessly, developmentally arrested.

Doom America more?

interesting point of view. i don't share it in the least, however. let me see if i understand this. you are basically saying that the manner in which people behave is due to the way movies portray people? life imitating art? in other words, people aren't capable of making choices for themselves or thinking for themselves...they merely immulate what they see in the movies. do i have that right? men rape women because they saw it in a movie and it looked cool. women take off their aprons and don power suits because Hollywood says they should. that is absurd! you talk as if people are mindless robots who play follow-the-leader because of what they see in a theater. as for the way Hollywood writes characters...women, in particular....you say "We are tired of psuedo-intellectuals that inject..." who is we? to be quite honest, the only type of people i've heard speak in such a manner are closed-minded, puritanistic, right-wing fundamentalists who would rather assert their own warped, stuck-in-the-50's opinions on the public (and say it's the moral majority who feel this way...and frankly, i see nothing moral in judging or condemning someone for the person they are)as opposed to accepting the fact that there are people out there who don't live as you do. doesn't make them wrong for it!

on to your little rant about lesbianism. obviously you have a problem with it. i, however, do not. do you know why? because i understand that gay people, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, etc. did NOT choose to be this way. they are who they are...whether you agree or like it or not. why exactly is it wrong? i'm curious. is it because you live your life according to what one particular book says? a book that i am fairly certain you've never taken the time to really research its true origins. your brand of religion is what is damning America, not those of us who choose to be who we are without apology.

and explain to me why marriage and family is a necessity? you used the word "majority" to describe other people's beliefs...again. what exactly is wrong with being single? and when did age have anything to do with being able to start a family? yes, i understand the physicality of the process. does the word adoption mean anything to you? and who are you to say that the intended perceptual context of sex works best in love and commitment? you should broaden your horizons and study other cultures. see how other people view it. sex should be fun. it's pleasurable. it doesn't always have to be about love. and it is a release...whether you're in love or not, or even if it's with the same sex! do a search on Heiros Gamos. you might find it enlightening. though i have my doubts.

as for america and julia. would i still support them if i saw them in a movie i didn't particularly care for? YES! they happen to be two of my best friends and also two very strong, very independent, very intelligent women for whom i have a great deal of respect! even if i didn't know them and didn't enjoy a project of theirs, i would never post anything negative on a public forum. it's rude, it's hurtful and it isn't necessary. i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions...god knows i have mine...but what's the point of being negative? it does no one any good. that's the biggest problem with our society today. everyone's always ready to jump on a band-wagon of negativity instead of finding the positive in things and being uplifting to those around them.

now, if you would like to debate theology with me, i would be more than happy to give you my personal email address and we can discuss it in private. but i would appreciate you not making disparaging comments on a film (and a lot of people's lifestyle) that two of my best friends are incredibly proud of, on my thread. go be negative elsewhere. thanks

I had a lot of fun watching this movie. Maybe that's what you're forgetting about movies. You're supposed to have fun. You need to lighten up and quit being such a damn critic...

Whatttthe H are you talking about? :D I mean LOOK at what you just wrote.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but that STILL sounded absolutely ridiculous.

Is Bitch Slap a documentary? A TUTORIAL on life, perhaps? :D You sure spoke like it was.

And honestly, you, like all similar people, lose all credibility when you state the infamous troll line "WORST EVER", like you did there.

"...worst film on earth." REALLY? And I wonder how many thousand times you've said those words? Hmh? Yeeeaah.

I'm not expecting the movie to be a "schindler's list" and I'm sure it isn't but I'm gonna watch it and most likely be entertained.

And WHY oh WHY did you even watch a movie like this if you were looking about realism, and/or some sort of ROLEMODEL behaviour out of the characters?

I mean.... "BS ultra-left Hollywood immorality infecting our lives, turning men into spineless, sport/sex-obsessed drunks and women into hardened, calculating neurotic combative nutcases." :} ... Really? :D Yeah, sure that might be the case for some "redneck"/jock groups with VERY low IQ's, but most people (most likely participants who believe in marriage and love, among other things, but not necessarily all of em) CAN tell the difference between entertainment and real life, thus, not being BRAINWASHED by actionflicks. :)

And there are PLENTY of movies out there talking about marriage, wedding dresses, finding "the one" and married life, INCASE you haven't noticed. But it just so happens you can't change a single sex-maniacs lifestyle with one of those movies and I BET you can't make a housewife turn into an asskicking lesbian with an over-the-top actionflick. The idea is absolutely absurd.

"So women who watch this crap are empowered to make bad choices, and are hopelessly, developmentally arrested."

If you're trying to defend women, I think that sentence only would make even the ladies laugh OR even get angry, because you're actually saying that WOMEN are that stupid and easily influenced.

Little girls and little boys might take influence easier though, but that's a whole different story and they shouldn't watch movies like this anyway.

But yes, I'd marry someone, if I'd find someone I really love and have kids and the whole stereotypical utopistic dreamscenario and I hope I some day will.
And I don't have sex to girls I don't actually love.

...aand I'm a 26 year old blackmetal singer who has watched movies like this for my whole life. (And sure, all kind of other movies too, with all kinds of themes)

So COME ON, leave your problems at the door when writing a review coz it just seems you've had some bad personal experiences with people who are acting like stupid movie stereotypes.. And mostly REAL LIFE gives ideas to MOVIES, not the other way around. AND movies tend to over-exaggurate them even further, ESPECIALLY over the top B-class actionmovies that take you for an imaginary ride, just like Avatar you've also seemed to have hated.

Lighten up :) They're still just movies, like movies have always been. Sure they may change the culture, and spawn a few movietheaters or give a crazy kid ideas how to kill his neighbour(honestly, if someone copies a movie and kills someone, they weren't right in the head to begin with.) but they WILL NOT make smart people (act) stupid. For some reason there's just waaay more stupid people in the world nowadays, OR at least they're more visible, filling internet forums and being heard and seen better due to global media network and universal connections of all kind.

But yeah, I hope it's an ok movie, gonna watch it soon. Sorry for my english, if there's grammar errors or "hard to understand" parts, coz I'm Finnish.

To the last 2 posters. Why bother reading this far then! Go and be cynical somewhere else.

This is my first time posting, so I apologize if I'm doing it wrong. I have followed this movie for a while, and I've been reading the reviews, mixed as they are. What I would like to know is, is this movie worth the price of a ticket? I am not a critic, so all I want out of this movie is entertainment, but I want to know if the acting is decent, and if there is an actual plot line.

I appreciate any responses anyone would be willing to give. Thanks.

i dont think its worth watching really, it started off ok enough but at some point the overacting hysteria kicked in and i became disconnected from the movie, things were just happening on screen which i couldn't really care for.

a good b movie is black dynamite

reply

"You all sound like marketing people planted onto this board"

And you sound like a token conspiracy theorist. Do you honestly think that a direct-to-DVD B Movie could afford to hire "marketing plants" that build the film up on imdb? If they could afford that, they would have enough funds to release this film theatrically?

I know it might be hard to believe that there are fans out there that actually know how to break down the films they watch. On the other hand, claiming that a low budget thrill ride like this placed plants here is beyond retarded.

It might also be important to note how ineffective this film's marketing has been. They have f--ked themselves in more ways than I can count from a marketing perspective, which is exactly why this film has had its release pushed back months after months, and why it will not get a theatrical release.

For a statement of such nihilistic implications, you sure have a lot of faith in the impossible.

Okay. Now I'm going to do his teeth and cut off his fingers. You might want to leave room.

You guys do sound like marketing plants. Especially Mandi.

This movie looked like it never deserved to get a theatrical run. Way to cheesy and low budget.

"You guys do sound like marketing plants."

At least you should be paid for your efforts in trying to save this movie from oblivion.

This movie sucked. I just skipped to scenes where the girls hook up in the trailer and then realized I'd be better off just watch some internet porn. People here have waayy too much time on their hands to sit down an analyze a horrible film like this.
