This movie is adorable! Why not release it???

Just watched this film on On Demand. Such a shame that it is not getting a bigger release. It is so charming, quirky and unlike anything out there lately. I think the writers definitely captured the spirit of the book (one of my favorites) and it transferred well to the film. Jessica Alba did a fine job in her "real acting" turn and the kids were really sweet. Little Sophie Nyweide breaks your heart as "Lisa Venus." This film shouldn't have been buried in an On Demand release. Maybe it will make it to some theaters - hope so.

I completely agree! Shame it didn't get a cinema release (or if it did here in the UK, I certainly didn't hear about it). Perfect? No. But easily far better than any number of (supposedly) quirky romantic comedies of recent years. :-)

It was considered a mess: bad writing, acting, dialogue, and direction.
