So I finished the book...*SPOILERS*
...And the ending seemed a bit strange to me.
For starters, what was the point of assaulting the Brazilian Lab, capturing the surviving Horizon Employees, blowing up the Lab and then forcing them to survive out in the Jungle? Why go to all that effort, and risk loosing lives when they could have just destroyed it in the first place, taking the Horizon employees out in the explosion?
Also, Popov. I'm not sure how the US Goverment handles these things but he's commited two murders (The Horizon Hunter and the guy in Switzerland) and organised four terrorist attacks, all together resulting in two hostages (One of them a child) and two Rainbow Operatives been killed. Sure, he may have saved the world by coming clean but they wouldn't just let him go after all that would they? What if he told his story to the press? Leaked information he'd learnt in the US back to the KGB? Worked for another terrorist organisation etc.
Thoughts?
