...Everytime I See it , it brings tears to my eyes.

Back in 2002 when the A's were on their streak, my dad and I watched and wondered how many are they gonna win? When their streak came to an end, and they lost, we knew about all the trades and dropping all stars by crazy Billy bean, but never got the inside story
After all we were Dodgers fans since I was a baby...and it was years since we got the series.
The reason this film brings me to tears is simple, truth.
It speaks to that thing X factor, the math formulas never used...and the romantic game my father and I watched for years which is America's Pastime forever.
To quantify the relevance of the game by wins is missing the point.
Dad died the following year but we did watch the Angels win the series..in 02.
Finally as a dad myself hearing his daughter sing that song at the end brings it all home for me, and chokes me up everytime I see it. It's time for Dodgers baseball...
Thanks Vin, never forget you.

I did not see the movie (see I am a B-Ball fan from the 'other side of the bay') but I heard an old commercial from my local radio station that used to carry the Giants games-the jingle was called 'Bye Bye Baby' or 'When the Giants Come to Town'. Either way, I got quite a nostalgic 'kick' from that tune.

Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?

Do u often post replies to topics on the message boards of IMDb for films u haven't seen?

Seems odd.
