Certainly not a comedy, but this one scene......(spoilers)

There is this one scene with a questionable prop that keeps me wondering....why?. This happens at one of the more serious and climatic scenes of the movie. The scene I'm talking about is when Richard Gere's character is fighting the 2 perps in the sex dungeon. At the final moment he takes a thick zip tie and wraps it around the guys neck and pulls it tight killing the said perp and rescuing all the girls in the room.

He then leans back on that steel shelf and there is a box from Nike Air Max shoes....which doesn't seem that out of place until you pause and read it to reveal what it says:

"Air Enjoy Your Life"

Really? WTF?! Why?

reply

Ah. Sweet irony.

Guns kill people. People kill people easier with guns. Ban guns.

A strange product placement...
air today, gone tomorrow...

reply

yea, guns are dangerous, perhaps they should follow asia to ban guns, pretty backwards but if it does more good then it should be implemented.

LOL... They're not Nike Air Max shoes, its a knockoff brand called "A Air" but yes the slogan is funny (in a macabre sense) and in keeping with the dark tone of the film. Brookyn's Finest is loaded with symbolism like this, such as the "blood money" connotations during the murder and robbery at the start. Such an underrated film.
