Excellent Movie!!! Similar ones???

I loved this. Anybody know of any similar movies?

It reminded me how much I enjoyed Gere in Internal Affairs. A very different film (and performance), but worth seeing. Somehow Gere, who in the past has been accused of being a pretty boy without much grit, manages to play cops with incredible persuasiveness. His weary face made Brooklyn's Finest, in my opinion.

The "three cops" story called to mind L.A. Confidential. In fact, the movie as a whole seemed like a hybrid of the work of James Ellroy and The Wire -- if you enjoyed Brooklyn's Finest, you should definitely read Ellroy's "L.A. Quartet". And everyone on earth should see The Wire.

Agreed. Personally, I'd have preferred to see a full movie about Gere's character alone.

The Departed (though much better IMO)

Seen it, though I don't think it's better.

reply

Yeah, Gere was very charismatic in Internal Affairs. The Departed is also another excellent movie.
