I loved the school they filmed at - big wide hallways, huge bathrooms, very old fashioned, perfect setting for the high school and elementary school scenes.
They actually rented the school for a whole day, so the real students that attended the charter school got the day off! They filmed all school scenes in 1 day - Ben Chavis high school scenes, Martha's 2nd grade classroom, Tim Tyson and 4th grade classmates on playground, and Tim and Martha after the fight.
I tell you what - that crew works real hard, long hours!! Thank you!!

yes..i go to the charter school it is called piedmont community charter school it was made in the early 1900's we renovated about 8 years ago and it looks really big but not as big as you would think. I am actually in the high school and it got so crowded that we had to move into a building we rent down town. It was nice that we got the day off tuesday. I heard that a lot of the 4th graders played as extras as 2nd graders and one of my teachers was one of the main extra. They are still not yet finished filmin in Gastonia nor the Charter school they are filming a lot more in the summer. Us students that go to the school are excited for it, that we get to be a part of such a great event. : D
