Kaname age question

I know it's covered more int he Manga, BUT it's covered slighlty in the anime as well. Kaname is an ancient noble, he has had a lover before, the white cloaked lady who started the hunters. yet in flashbacks int he anime is he very young, as a friend of Aido, etc. and as Yuki's 'Brother.'

Can he adjust his age? If he was so young for so many thousands of years, why did he age in 10 years? But he had to be adult with the woman in white?

It's killing me not to know.

You probably won't see this since you posted almost a year ago, but I thought I would answer anyway. It's explained more in the manga.
Kaname is over 10,000 years old. He was one of the first vampires born to human parents do to the climate change. After his lover 'the cloaked woman' dies he decides to sleep hoping to die. He doesn't and he is awaken when Rido sacrifices his baby nephew to wake him. When he awakens his blood lust is so great that he can't control it so he reverts back into a baby. That is why he is shown as a child in the story growing up with Aido and the rest.
