A movie with it, and not anime like, but a real movie. I mean I'm not big into anime at all, and I loved this, and I know that it would make people mad if they were to maybe think about making this into a movie, but could you see the possibilites, I mean you know they would make killing, and even though it's a manga series, there making alot of comic book movies, why not a manga...hmmmm they totally should

Well If it was american made, I would cast, let me see...hmmm...I'm not sure, anyone else have anyone other ideas, I'll have to get back on this

I am against an American cast - they should do Japanese actors for the movie as this has been more authentic - just look at the Death Note movies and other japanese-produced movies based on Manga - I cannot imagine these characters been played by non-Japanese - it also relates (IMHO) that when it comes to cosplay, Japanese teenagers pull off the cosplay of manga/anime characters much better because they have the lithe bodies and angular features of the manga characters and live-action of manga stories is essentially professional cosplay - and it will relate across.

Plus it needs to stay Japanese because the americans have their own pool of comic adaptations - by the bucket load - and japanese story-telling vs american story-telling is very different and I think it will clash.

Can you just imagine an American version of Death Note for example - urgh...

That's my argument.

NO JAPANESE ACTORS.
Their eyes aren't big enough.

ANYWAY... I think the cast would mainly have to be made up of unknowns to make the movie any good. Except I've always pictured Johnny Depp as Yagari... I personally think that if they teamed up Tim Burton w/ someone who'd tone down his creepiness to direct it that VK would make a fantastic live action movie.

Sigh - why can't Hollywood just leave stuff well alone?

It'll prolly have Zac Efron as Kira etc - sigh....though I did go to the Brisbane Supanova convention on the weekend and saw a few 'western' L Cosplay's that were half decent...

Completely off VK but how was the Death Note Series? It looked interesting but I wasn't sure if I would like them.

But how on earth will they *ever* find anyone insanely tall and good-looking enough to play both Kaname and Zero!
