Is this manga inspired or based or was this made only for anime?

Personally I would've like for the show to have ran a bit more so they could spread the story telling speed of the latter episodes a bit more. Though I think it must've been hard on the studio making such an artistic project more lenghty with low revenue prospects huh..

I agree with your statements on the latter part. The earlier episodic stories were my favorite parts of Kaiba, and I wish we could've gotten more of them, with bits of the main story slowly revealed over time. Kaiba is such a unique and interesting world and I wish we got more time to explore it.

To answer your original question though, I cannot find any information on a Kaiba manga so I don't there is one.
