Sally says it took them a long time to get home implying that they must have fooled around before the crash? Did they actually? And did Cliff feel so guilty that is why he hung himself?

share(Almost 5 years later...) It is clearly said, not hinted. What I did not agree necessarily with was the character Sally's observation that Cliff was just "more remorseful." I believe it is plain to see that Ned was incredibly remorseful too. They were only different was to deal with their remorse.
