Shane Taylor did a really good job in Band of Brother's so I'm assuming that is what is being referred to.

Yes it is, I got a bit excited while typing and completely missed out "actor of band of brothers" but nevermind. You got it =)

THAT'S where i recognize him from!! Sorry to say but i was acutely disappointed in this movie. It had SO much potential to be a truly excellent film with multiple courses the plot(s) could have taken (jilted son now trying to repair HIS parents' nonexistent emotional communication, the father's search for absolution of his mistaken WW 2 ordinance drop, etc) but...it just meandered and ultimately accomplished absolutely nothing. Truly tragic. Excellent acting by all but movie itself just 'blah'. What a genuine shame.
