Panama is obviously kinda poor.

He is not doing as bad as Resto but the reason why he wears all that gold is to make people believe that he is wealthy. Also he would not make such a big deal about getting payment from the film director every time they met if he were rich.

The fact that somebody who acted with premeditation recklessly or knowingly ruined a promising youngman's life makes me want to vomit. I don't know if there is a worse story in sports. I'd love to hear it if there was -- I am a sports fan and this takes the cake. Pete Rose kind of ruined Fosse's career -- but it was part of the obvious risks of baseball. It was one play -- in the heat of action. Not over the course of pre-planning and an hour of fighting. Perhaps Wayne Simpson was ruined by Sparky Anderson and Billy Martin ruined a few pitcher's arms.

Demanding payment and wearing flashy jewely does not mean that he was overcompensating for a lack of wealth, it probably only signifies that this is a man who values money over all else--painfully obvious in the documentary, as he was willing to conspire to maim and potentially kill to win a fixed fight.

It is said that of all the low people in boxing, even they look down on Lewis. The fact that there are still fighters who want to train with him goes to show how dirty professional sports have become.
