Poor mans 28 days.spoilers

So basically some guy meets this crazy chick and stays at her house. Then some nurse comes along and tries to kidnap the girl believing she is the cure. And then the guy decides to go back and kill his infected family. And then they drive off.And between all this there is random flashbacks, incoherent accents, killing crazy people infected with the virus. What the hell was the point of this movie?

There wasn't a point, it was just plain awful.

I concur.

I have to agree. I think they did a nice enough job in producing the film on a ridiculously low budget, but the premise/script was nothing special and wasn't appropriately explained. I also had a heck of a time understanding some of the dialog when the score was as loud/louder than the dialog.

28 Days Later was a mediocre film. The first half was at least an attempt at an atmospheric horror film, although it's very difficult to have the kind of quiet, creepy atmosphere in a movie where your zombies run. Then the second half just became a dime store version of "Day of the Dead". However, whereas Romero's film worked due to the intensity of the performances and good character writing, "28 Days Later" was not up the snuff in either case.

The Dead Outside is much better. It came off as a piece of cinema verite, with minimalism in setting and dialogue. The atmosphere was constant, taking full advantage of the desolate, foggy surroundings. The pace was very methodical, which I don't feel is a flaw. Then again, I've never minded a slow pace. Far as audio issues go, I had no such issue when watching it. The dialogue was very easy to hear.
