Question about Eddie's character

Was Eddie a child molester in this movie? Yeah, we all know he raped Luli and that is child molestation, but I mean like has he always been a child molester? Glenda mentions she was around Luli's age when Eddie raped her, and then she goes on saying how she left after she found out she was pregnant because she was afraid of what Eddie might do to her son...am I right? So was he child molester or just some really creeping, raping, psycho, stalking dude?

I think that Redmayne's acting is so good that he makes the Eddie character sympathetic. I found myself hoping that it could somehow work out for Eddie and Luli in a happily together forever after sort of way. But yes, Eddie is a child-raping psychopath. Like Glenda says on the bed before she unties Luli, Eddie is broken and he ain't no good to nobody.
