Why did the CIA agents leave Cherevin in the car after they rescue Keira Knightly? Surely the guy who is helping to plan an upcoming terrorist attack would be a a good person to question right before the attack is going to happen.

shareIt's Russia, not Afghanistan. The likelihood of an uncharted US-bound flight safely leaving Russian airspace is exactly the same as a Russian one leaving in the other direction. Even spies have to obey some rules.

basically what people would do in real life doesn't necessarily transfer to screen. Like when the bodyguard was trying to shoot jack the bad guy always misses the hero when in real life jack would of been killed.
It just has to happen to keep the story going untill the end.
