Cherevin and the limo driver--Questions

So Cherevin sent the limo driver to kill Jack. Did Serevin know that Jack was CIA? (how?) Or was he trying to kill Jack because he thought Jack was a troublesome banker?

And why the driver didn't just shoot Jack in the car or a million places along the way is laughable. Even more laughable is that when they were finally alone, the driver shot at Jack from like 100 feet away. All he had to do was walk closer and shoot him pointblank. Just another silly plot point in this film.

I would say that cherevin sent Embie to kill jack because jack had discovered what he was doing. His backup was selling off the shares to try and get rid of jack.

If Embie had killed jack along the way then there wouldn't be a jack ryan film. It's a movie it's not real life yes if this was real life I'm sure jack would have probably been knockedout taken to a quiet place and killed.
