What's your point here? Clint Eastwood's character is an old man from a different time so of course he's going to be like this at first. However I think the writers did a fantastic job of having him slowly (but realistically) change as the story progressed and as his relationship with those neighbors changed.
Walt had more issues than just his racial comments, he was also a bad father to his son, and he didn't communicate well with people in general until he started to try better later on.
Clint Eastwood enjoys stereotypes and offensive racist terms, he does it in all his movies under the guise of "storytelling" and "art."

Tell story about what you know best, that is what we are teach in the royal british school of pretty art and stuff college, Clint is an old guy and tell story from the perspective of an old guy and that is great no every movie should told from the same perspective if you want a movie that analized race relations from a more modern perspective there are a lot of young directors doing that but while there are more voices out there the better
hahahaha this movie is so badass for all those reasons u just mentioned. they just dont make em like they used to. i was just watching this film today lol. classic film. i really miss the 90s and early 2000s before all u pc sjw woketards ruined cinema for everybody

It's got some good parts but Clint uses his movies to say words he wishes he could still use (and maybe does behind closed doors.)

He is a massive fan of Jazz and that culture. He even did an entire movie dedicated to the life of Charlie Parker. You think a huge racist would direct a movie like that? That was a passion project through and through. He was married to a Hispanic woman. He called for the legalization of gay marriage. His Letters From Iwo Jima was a Japanese-language film that looks at WW2 from their side.
He doesn’t write his movies, stupid.

The movie doesn't have a character arch where Clint learns to stop using slurs. In fact, he teaches the young neighbor that it's manly to use racist slurs at the barber.
We're then left to learn that it's lovable, not offensive, to joke that asians eat dogs, with neighbors joking that it's actually cats!
Penultimate scene, the reading of the will, he uses the word gay as a slur, "no gay spoilers" on his car.
So despite some nice moments of friendship and heroism, the movie is trying to teach you to be manly and use slurs.

Should we be allowed to watch only correct movies?
What about any one with a bad guy like Scarface? Should netflix remove all those because they don't turn good by the end?
It's still a good movie. Anyone watching it is smart enough to know ITS JUST A MOVIE.
