absolute garbage...

8.2 rating?

Have you kids been snorting your Ritalin again?

So you join a movie web site to post on politics and sports board? 

One day you might be intelligent enough to understand what this movie was all about, but I doubt it.

reply

Oh, you noticed that too? You're flattering those involved with the making of the film by referring to it as garbage. It's worse than that. The acting is absolutely atrocious.

You rated Cheers a 7, but Wings, Car 54 Where Are You? and CHiPs a NINE????

Actually, you might be the one who's on drugs. Either that, or you need glasses. I rated Wings an 8, not a 9. I rated Car 54 an 8, not a 9. I rated [ one ] specific episode of Chips a 9, because I thought it was entertaining, because I thought it was so terrible. If I was rating the [ whole ] series, I might give it a 6, and that would be generous. As far as Cheers is concerned, just like any other series, they're all hit and miss. No series has consistently had all good episodes. Except for possibly a [ very ] small percentage of series that have aired over the history of television. I liked Cheers when it first aired. It just doesn't hold up for me. Unless you are some kind of zombie, I'm quite sure that you will someday look back on all of the films and series that you've liked over the years and find some of them that no longer hold up for you.

As far as Gran Torino and Eastwood are concerned, I was being generous by giving it a 5. I find it laughable. But I guess that's what your generation eats up. I feel that Eastwood is overrated as a director. He relies on a lot of overacting and ridiculous audience manipulation to put viewers in the seats. Not much subtlety. Those aren't the types of films that I like to watch. I find about a quarter of his directorial efforts to be pretty good, and most of them are his early work. The rest of them I pretty much have no use for. In the end, it all boils down to personal taste. You may worship Eastwood. I don't. Your generation seems to be afraid of exploring anything that was released before you were born. You should expand your horizons and explore films that were released fifty years ago or more. You might be surprised. That is, if it isn't too painful to watch something in black and white ( Heaven forbid! ). In the future, before you criticize someone, read very closely. And change your glasses, or stay off the meth when posting.

A little anecdote: I actually knew John Ratzenberger ( Cliff on Cheers ). I went to high school with him. His yearbook page has a picture of him, with his twin sister right next to him.

Gran Torino was named one of the ten best films of 2008 by the AFI. The screenplay was voted the best of 2008 by the National Board of Review. In France it won the Cesar award for Best Foreign Film.

Your 'generation' comment is moronic.

What generation is that? I mean, it isn't like you sound like a pretentious ja(k off or anything. And the "worship Eastwood" doesn't make you look more like a pile of feces either.

We can go the other way too. "Your generation" is stuck in the past and cannot figure the there are good movies made even today. They don't have to be the black and white westerns you "worship."

That's pretty much what I expected from an arrogant, pretentious, immature moron such as yourself. Too big of a pansy to actually answer any questions.
